About

Born in 1998 in Paris, Charles Cuau grew up in France. He studied international relations, with a strong focus on conflicts and migration and obtained his masters degree in 2022.

In 2024, after several work experiences in the NGO sector, and an internship with Agence MYOP in Paris, he redirects towards documentary photography to cover international news and conduct more personal projects.

His work mostly focuses on the Middle East region, where he learned Arabic during three years, first in Beirut and then in Tunisia. He is currently based in Damascus, Syria, where he covers the situation for French and international outlets as a freelance photographer and journalist.
